Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the Collegiate Church Network collects through collegiate.church, how we use it and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.

Who we are

The Collegiate Church Network ("Collegiate", "we") is a network of local churches on US college campuses. You can reach us about this policy at info@collegiate.church.

What this site collects

This site has no accounts or logins, and it does not use advertising trackers.

Hosting and delivery services may process technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page and time. These services use their own logging and retention settings. Contact us if you need details about the services used for your visit.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site, such as which pages are visited, how long visits last, which links brought people here, and general device, browser and approximate location (city or region) information. This helps us improve the site. It does not tell us who you are.

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell one visit from another. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics advertising features or Google signals, and we do not combine analytics data with information that identifies you.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works the same without them.

Messages you send us

When you send the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you pick, any church or campus you add and your message. The form is delivered by Formspree, a form service that emails it to our team and keeps a copy under its own privacy policy. Before sending it on, this site checks the message for spam using the information in it and your IP address, which is held only briefly to limit repeat submissions. We use what you send only to reply and to help you.

The same is true when you email us directly, including reports sent to the Board of Trustees.

Services run by our partners

Some features take you to, or load from, other organizations. Their own privacy policies apply to what you share with them:

Newsletter: signing up happens on Mailchimp, which stores your email address and lets you unsubscribe at any time.

Giving: gifts are made on the sites of Reliant Mission, the National Christian Foundation or Engiven. Payment details are entered with those providers; this website has no payment-processing form.

Prayer requests: our prayer feed is hosted by Echo Prayer.

Podcast: episode audio streams from Buzzsprout when you press play.

Links to member churches, social media and other sites leave collegiate.church.

How we use and share information

We use the information you give us to answer your questions, connect you with a church or our staff, send updates you asked for, and keep records of gifts.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with people and partners who need it to do those things, or when the law requires it, including to protect someone's safety.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, email info@collegiate.church and we will delete it.

Keeping information safe

The public website is configured to request encrypted HTTPS connections. Contact form messages and information shared with other providers are handled by those services. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not include passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in a general inquiry.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it by emailing info@collegiate.church. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, and we will honor them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
